The Individuals and societies MYP 1 programme is comprised of six units of enquiry. Over the next year you will be carrying out independent research and learning into a broad number of topics ranging from globalisation, mapping, civilisations, settlements, belief systems and the issues surrounding the development of societies.
The programme has been designed to help you develop an understanding of the world that we live in and gain an insight into how modern society has developed, adding context and perspective to a range of issues. The MYP 1 programme will also enable you to develop your approaches to learning skills, with each unit having a particular ATL focus.
Towards the end of the year you have the opportunity to carry out an investigation of your choice, developing your own research question and line of inquiry. You will be asked to develop inquiry based questions and consider key and related concepts to the topics studied.
